Temporal and Spatial Evolution Analysis of Earthquake Events in California and Nevada Based on Spatial Statistics

Studying the temporal and spatial evolution trends in earthquakes an area is beneficial for determining earthquake risk of so that local governments can make correct decisions disaster prevention reduction. In this paper, we propose a new method analyzing based on magnitude 3.0 or above from 1980 to 2019 California Nevada. The experiment’s results show (1) frequency events 4.5 present relatively regular change trend decreasing–rising area; (2) by using weighted average center analyze concentration region, find shows conch-type movement law, where it moves closer all sides; (3) direction distribution NW–SE pattern when standard deviational ellipse (SDE) used, which basically consistent with San Andreas Fault Zone across north south California; (4) region found be clustered global autocorrelation analysis method. This study provides perspective exploration understanding area.
